My Saturday morning news round-up after the legally required dump of the Epstein files late yesterday brought the following quote to mind:
“If you want to know what power looks like, watch a man safely, even smugly, do interviews for decades, without ever worrying whether he will be asked the questions he doesn’t want to answer.” — Monica Lewinsky
Well, given enough time, even things like the overly gracious immunity he enjoyed for those decades can come to an end. This may or may not be it, but there seems to be a few visible cracks in the dam:
Former President Bill Clinton is photographed reclining nearly naked in a hot tub with an unidentified woman at his waist in files kept by late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein — drawing strong reactions, including an ex-aide’s pronouncement that “this is his reckoning.” …
Hint: The full force of that immunity would not allow for the repeated “nearly naked” construct to describe the act of “wearing a swimsuit.” That kind of reportage quality is historically reserved only for non-Democrats.

I do hope Ms. Lewinsky gets some measure of satisfaction from these developments.
