Daydreaming Away a Lazy Wednesday Evening in May

The key observation of the day according to me is (via Instapundit):

We have the hardest working President in US history and the laziest Republican Congress in US history.

Something has to give.

I would be lying if I said there wasn’t a part of me that hopes the “one big, beautiful bill” fails to emerge from Congress in spectacularly embarrassing fashion…and President Trump decides to waste no more time on this ridiculous party of establishment fools and faux-principled losers. (Don’t get me wrong, just like I supported the rights of those who vacated the Speakership a few years back using valid tools provided to them by their own leadership/caucus, those in the current Republican caucus are just as free to use the legislative tools at their disposal. But if they are not smart enough to read the defense…and understand the game plan and momentum being generated by their quarterback…to take the easy win and move on, then they have learned nothing since the right-of-center base long ago tired of Failure Theater and they deserve a political flogging of epic proportions. But I digress.) Three and a half years of going scorched earth against both corrupt parties by an antifragile Proud Executive who simply does not give a F*ck anymore about the stupid political games those of the fully-corrupted system want to play with his time in office would be well worth the wild ride. I suspect the Trump Base at the end of the term would be intact and probably still expanding…and the results would probably be better for the great majority of We the People than any alternative path forward at this point.

Well, a guy can dream anyway.
