From Merriam-Webster:
Proud – 1. showing pride. 2. marked by stateliness. 3. raised above a surrounding area
A few weeks back I posted “Bad Faith Governance and the (Intentional) Absence of the Proud Executive” to point out that our current Chief Executive (in name only) fails on all three points:
I return to the topic tonight just to document what has been obvious for some time to most anyone willing to see but – as of late last evening (evidently) – is now just being openly rubbed in our faces to the cheers and giggles of a fully corrupted party: The oval office has been occupied since January 2021 by a hollow vessel happy to have the title but without an ounce of pride in the authority that goes with it and the uses of it done in his name by others…nameless, faceless others. (He has been mindlessly signing Executive Orders since his very first hours in office like Colonel Henry Blake initialing whatever papers Radar O’Reilly puts under his nose. His party cheered him on…embarrassments galore.)
Unfortunately, by hook or by crook, the Lack-of-a-True-Proud-Executive model worked so well the first time (with an assist from manufactured COVID hysteria), the corrupt party is running the same play again. (Will there by a pseudo-event “hysteria” yet deployed or are they confident enough now to run it out in the open this time? Regardless, rest assured that the enablers inside our perimeter will assist wherever possible…such as willful incuriousness regarding a reported “live to tape” interview of the Prideless Candidate without (to the best of my knowledge) a transcript to prove that we were provided everything that was recorded without deletions or edits and/or anti-intellectual twaddle about posing for a picture at a memorial service. But I digress.) It is truly a sad state of affairs. As I have said before: “…the system we were given does not work when the Chief Executive has no real pride in this sense. (Both parties must abide by this in good faith. Obviously, given the replacement for FJB on the 2024 ticket, our current construct fails this requirement. Any potential relief in the offing is destined to be temporary.”) Alas, there are now even rumors that this next puppet in line for the Progressive machine is looking to get out of the planned live debate.
While I am no longer a Republican (the era of “compassionate” something or other and big-tent-ism at all costs finally drove me away after the 2014 Mississippi Republican Senate run-off. Never Forget Mississippi 2014!), it is at least modestly comforting that the GOP honors the requirement of nominating Proud Executives who similarly honor the tradition of open, honest debate of issues, policies, and platforms in front of the American electorate:
Sixty-four days until we enter the next phase of the managed decline of the American Republic. I suspect that nothing about the end of this phase or the beginning of the next is going to be pleasant. The Progressive Machine – in its usual lack-of-good-faith manner – will make sure of that.
Deeper into the abyss we go…
