Well, it seems it has been a rare active week regarding one of my pet issues, namely: the aborted storyline of the fake pipe-bombs of J6 and the corresponding reliable national incuriosity about the whole episode. For those who need a refresher:

Before I dig into the current offerings, I do want to plant this contextual reminder in your head from the first link above about these fake “pipe-bombs”: 

Capitol police the next day issued a statement. “The USCP Hazardous Materials Response Team determined that both devices were, in fact, hazardous and could cause great harm to public safety,” Steven Sund, the Capitol police chief wrote on January 7, the day he resigned from the force. “The devices were disabled and turned over to the FBI for further investigation and analysis.”

That is Nancy Pelosi’s own USCP, the same organization that seems to have extended its authority to, none other than, the local RNC and DNC facilities. And of course, the proper response to the above was also provided in one of those links above: “Hazardous”? (In what way, exactly? That may seem obtuse to some of you but that kind of scrutiny of oddly worded statements should become reflexive when dealing with people who have made a habit of lying to you. Some of us honed the required skills during the Clinton administration. But I digress.) Also, what exactly was “disabled”?

Now, moving on to this week. First up was the following from RedState:

New J6 Bomb Information From Security Expert Raises Even More Questions

We’ve written before about some of the interesting aspects of the bombs including questions about whether they would even have gone off, given they had one-hour kitchen timers, if they were planted the night before. But, the new report notes a surveillance video that Julie Kelly has seen showing a handler and a dog sweeping the DNC premises a few hours before the bomb there was found. So how could they not have discovered it? …

I guess the script did yet call for it to be found. Or was it the advance team just making sure the props were still in  place. 

The RNC bomb also has a lot of questions, one of them being whether it was really an “RNC” bomb…”The FBI map ‘misrepresents the dimensions of the RNC and Capitol Hill Club buildings, making it appear the bomb was closer to the RNC,’”…the bomber didn’t go around the RNC building. So why is it a “RNC bomb” rather than a “Capitol Hill Club” bomb?

Maybe the RNC wasn’t really in on this con and getting too close was a bit risky. No worry, the media will go with the directed narrative.

We also have a return to the suspicious person who found the RNC “bomb”:

“One would think, just suspecting the object might be a bomb would be sufficient to cause her to step away from the device,” notes the security expert. But this didn’t happen. Instead, Younger leaned into the bomb so she could read the dial on the timer. It pointed to 20.”

Curiouser and curiouser.

This week’s second focus link came through Instapundit:

RNC Security Officer Who First Responded to J6 Pipe Bomb Claims Official Story ‘Makes No Sense’

The director of security for the Republican National Committee recently called into question the official explanation of the pipe bomb that was discovered on Jan. 6, 2021, saying that it “makes no sense whatsoever.” Let’s be real: not much that happened that day makes sense. The official narrative of events has proven to be less than accurate. …

“Kenneth Capolino, a former Capitol Police officer who went on to work as the RNC’s director of security…told The Daily Wire, in his first public remarks on the incident, that it looked like a stereotypical IED, or improvised explosive device, that is used by law enforcement in training sessions. ‘Any of the IED awareness training I’ve been to with law enforcement, that’s like the quintessential training device,” he told The Daily Wire. “That’s exactly what it looks like.’”

Capolino states that any law enforcement official who came across the device would immediately be able to identify it.

But, again, remember that the USCP told us that these were determined to be “hazardous” and had to be “disabled” in their hands. Nothing to see here, move along…

… The device was hooked up to a 60-minute egg timer, but it had been in its location since the previous night. Almost like it was part of a setup of some kind, right?

“I was two feet from it. Why would someone construct a device with a one-hour kitchen timer, place it [at] 8:30 p.m. the night before, if they intended for it to detonate 16 hours later?” Capolino then asked.

As Capolino has already pointed out, there are a lot of weird things about this whole situation. For example…police officers, after a passerby notified them about the DNC bomb, meandered around and didn’t do anything to clear the area or seal it off from the general public. They even allowed children to walk in front of it, which is a huge no-no if the bomb is live. When the Daily Wire asked the DNC if they evacuated staff from the building after finding the explosive device, they refused to answer.

Why the silence on something of that nature? Seems like such a small thing to be secretive about. Unless, of course, they didn’t evacuate the premises because they somehow knew in advance that the bomb wasn’t real. Gee, I wonder how they would be made privy to such information?

Of course, an enterprising investigative reporter – if such a thing still existed – might start with the electronic communications emanating from the Speaker’s office in the days and weeks leading up to J6. (Or just check Liz Cheney’s notes…no doubt, given her pure character and noble cause, she asked all these questions long ago. <<spit>>)

Of course, the larger point here is that we are finally moving beyond any questions from the rational observer about these devices actually being props staged in advance to spark a breaking news narrative as needed. At some point, a We the People worthy of the American birthright just might start to ask why parts of their government would be involved is such a charade…and what else they had their hand in that day.

I have used this example in other posts on this subject but just want to repeat it here to demonstrate once again just how easily the American masses suspend their natural intellectual curiosity to move quickly past the “not believable” introduction or set-up just to dive into the shiny object of the scripted narrative. This really happened.

Instapundit links to a 1997 story about that unbelievable not believable story about that Florida couple. Some of it is worth documenting here:

A Florida janitor and his wife identified themselves Monday as the source of a clandestine tape recording of House Speaker Newt Gingrich and his aides and said that they had turned it over to the ranking Democrat on the House Ethics Committee not knowing that it might be illegal.

John Martin, a school custodian in the small town of Fort White, Fla., and his wife, Alice, a teacher’s aide, insisted that they were not motivated by partisan politics when they hand-delivered the tape recording to Rep. Jim McDermott (D-Wash.).

Republicans deny that the speaker said or did anything improper by participating in the call. Moreover, they suggest that McDermott has tainted the ethics process and possibly violated federal law by providing the tape recording to the news media. McDermott has declined to discuss the accusations. …

Appearing at a news conference with their lawyer in Gainesville, Fla., the Martins said that they were listening to a police scanner in their car during a Christmas shopping trip on Dec. 21 when the scanner picked up a telephone conference call between the speaker and other top Republicans.

The couple said they began taping the call, using a hand-held tape recorder that they had with them in the car, after hearing the Georgia Republican’s ethics case mentioned in the conversation and deducing that the participants were prominent congressional Republicans. Public disclosure of the conference call has sparked a political firestorm. …

“Once it’s understood that these folks are Mr. and Mrs. John Q. Citizen, who happened to discover something they thought was pertinent to the Ethics [Committee] and did what I think we want citizens to do. . . . my hope is that those who are responsible for making prosecuting decisions will decide [that] it shouldn’t be prosecuted,” [the Martin’s Lawyer] said. “If they determine to prosecute it, we’ll defend it.”

Red flags galore for the curious mind. And there is that universal “happened to” phrase that glosses over so much that is not believable…and so ripe for the curious to focus on and investigate. But, alas, we know that in American politics that kind of investigative drive resides on a one-way street…and exposing progressive BS clearly goes against the traffic.
