The relevant view of the events on or about October 3, 2023 as they passed across my computer screen earlier today are presented in three acts below for your entertainment. Enjoy.

ACT I: A wise commenter calls out the common stoolie-types in the neighborhood:

…I welcome the anti-Trumpers comments, but try to make a compelling argument without simple assertions that 2020 proves he can’t win and falling back on personality attributed such as “vulgar”, “base” and “corrupt”. First “corrupt” has not been demonstrated in the public sphere. As a businessman he has certainly always sought to maximize his wealth. There is (or was) recourse by anyone harmed who could make out a case. The current NY case is not that — there is only some theoretical “harm” if someone makes a statement that absolutely no one relies on that is not true. When did supposedly constitution-loving individuals decide it was OK to take down Trump “by any means necessary”? You think someone other than Trump should be president? Fine. But don’t seek to bring that about by anti-constitutional means. And don’t support anyone who thinks that’s OK.

ACT II: Speaking of the current NY case, Althouse brings it to her audience with the usual “bold” stand (not!) but it is one of her commenters that gets it right:

It’s over. He’s guilty. And his supporters aren’t going to invest in a judicial process when their chance comes. … Not saying I like this. But it’s what I see coming, and it scares me.

It should scare you too. (This has been coming for quite some time but all too few were outraged when it mattered. Like in late 2020 when the mayors of NY and DC sanctioned (or contracted?) professional painters to assist the directed pseudo-outrage on a massive scale with “Black Lives Matters” murals on the streets outside Trump Tower and the White House, respectively. Not long after that (and shortly after the rigged elections) I wondered aloud what red county or red state America would do when select states stopped acting within the bounds of the voluntary compact. I fear we will soon find out. But I digress.)

Indeed, the hour is getting very late…and whether it is the totalitarian action or the counterrevolutionary reactions to follow, you can’t stop what’s coming.
